You could have checked for the right number of pieces by counting the
ends. As far as them being the right size - that would have been more
of a challenge. But not so bad: in 12" x 12" box, each layer would be
about 3' in circumference, or 4 layers for a 12' piece & about 3 for the
8' one. There should have been about 11 layers.
