Or for a start, posting to a newsgroup specific to the topic,
such as comp.unix.security (assuming that the systems in question are
unix).

And if you are running Windows, the first suggestion is to
switch any system exposed to the outside net to some flavor of unix, and
put any Windows boxen behind a separate firewall (not a firewall program
installed on the Windows system itself, which is just too vulnerable.
