Default Looking for a heat projection tube

I need some type of heat lamp or heat projection tube capable of
heating about a 6"x6" square area to 85-90 degrees from about 8 feet.

The unit must be small and discreet.

Well, there's the rub. If the beam runs around the room anywhere between
the floor and the height of the tallest person around, that person would get
a burn, or at least feel the heat when they walk through the beam. So,
discreet
is really hard. Maybe having the source hidden in the ceiling almost right
over the thermostat, and beaming straight down onto it would work. Then,
the only way to detect it would be to pass your hand above the thermostat.

Maybe the best course of action is to turn the ceiling vents of the A/C
system around so they either blow toward where you normally sit, or at
least away from the thermostat. If a cold air vent is blowing right on
the thermostat, it will keep the room artificially warm.
