Regis Hey Regis, Just hope there's a snafu somewhere and Dave's not the problem. Though, if so, he certainly should be at least talking to you. I can sure sympathize with you if you've been screwed. Just a couple weeks ago Susan bid on and won a piece of art glass (she collects) that was misrepresented. Live auction on ebay, seller's name is Myers Auction Gallery, Michael Myers, and his wife (according to him, anyway) Mary Dowd. Seller is in Florida, we're in Washington State. Seller refuses to refund money, and its over $1,000, so we're likely headed for court. It's one thing to have something lost and everyone is trying to rectify the problem, but quite another to find that you have been screwed outright. Good luck, keep us all posted. Harold |

I can't find Hiawatha Ontario on any map I have but there is a first nations
community know as Hiawatha in Ontario. It might not hurt to see if they have a web site then maybe you can trace the guy down through the band counsel. I just tried to do a search on www.superpages.ca but the site is down for some reason. Keep trying that search engine and when it's up and running again do a reverse search using the phone number he gave you. Hope it just turns out to be a shipping screw up. If it was a check or money order was it cashed and where? If you can find out where the check was cashed it might help to call the OPP fraud squad and ask them to look into the situation. You could also contact the OPP Phone Busters at www.phonebusters.com or 1-888-495-8510 I think there mandate goes beyond phone fraud. It might also help to give them a copy of the here say info some people on this post have supplied you with. I think your assumption that terrorists are no threat to Canada is wrong and my reasons for thinking that are as follows. Canada supplies the U.S.A. with far more oil/gas than all other countries combined including Saudi Arabia. We also have an inter connected hydroelectric and water grid that makes both our countries extremely interdependent. Our mutual border includes many major bridges and tunnels that if they where attacked would cripple both our economies. We are your largest trading partner by far and that makes your security and ours a mutual concern. Any terrorist with a brain knows what I have just said is true and that my friend means we all have to be vigilant, doesn't it? You also have to take in to consideration that we have over 2000 troops in Afganistan fighting the war on terrorism and that means the terrorist don't really like us either. I personally wish we had a bigger military force but I'm very proud of the extremely well trained professional men and women we have stationed over there. Jimbo "JTMcC" wrote in message ... Hi all,
The address I sent the check to was Hiawatha, Ontario, Canada. I have discovered that it is an Indian reservation outside Ontario. I now have a tel. number to the Tribe's councel leader. I sent a Western Union Money order so it should be easy to track him down. I know the bank that he cashed the check at has a picture of him (from one of the camera's). I was smart enough to keep every single e-mail that I received and sent to him, so I have very accurate times and dates. I filed a report he http://www.ifccfbi.gov/. I'm positive I will catch this POS. This is not the first time he has done something like this as I have a list of other people he ripped off. I guess he figured he could keep this up - that is, until he crossed path's with me. I won't give up until he's in jail and my money is back in my pocket. Regis James Watt wrote in message . .. Okay.... So I'm a dumb Canuck from Western Canada. Would one of my fellow Canuckians from Ontario please tell me whereabouts Hiawatha is. I'm guessing north of Toronto, but even I don't know - I've lived in Ontario all my life, except for about a year in the godforsaken province on Quebe. I have an overwhelming urge to receive a geography lesson today. So do I. Maybe I'll actually look at a map. James. |

I know the bank that he cashed the check at has a picture of him (from one of the camera's). "Jimbo" . wrote in message ... JTMcC: I think your assumption that terrorists are no threat to Canada is wrong and my reasons for thinking that are as follows. Any terrorist with a brain knows what I have just said is Maybe, but I haven't seen yet a terrorist decry Canada, for any of the reasons above. They decry, and hate the U.S. I haven't seen them burn the Canadian flag on the nightly news, or as was already said, pronounce Canada as "the great satan". I haven't seen them burn the Canadian leadersip in effigee. And I really haven't seen the news footage of terrorists crashing airliners into Canadian buildings. true and that my friend means we all have to be vigilant, doesn't it? You also have to take in to consideration that we have over 2000 troops in Afganistan fighting the war on terrorism and that means the terrorist don't really like us either. I personally wish we had a bigger military force but I'm very proud of the extremely well trained professional men and women we have stationed over there. As am I, good for those guys. But the U.S. is the focus of radical muslim hatred, not Canada. So I don't think it is beyond the pale that entrance into the U.S. might take a little longer, be you a human or be you a crate. And if you think, as one poster does, that U.S. customs equates to 1930's and 40's nazi's (and I'm pretty sure you don't), then you need to go back and re read your 20th century history. The Canadians were also there when we beat down the nazi's, and I'm glad for that too!. regards, JTMcC. Jimbo "JTMcC" wrote in message ... "James Watt" wrote in message ... Canada Customs are nowhere near as paranoid as US border nutzis. That might be because the terrorists would most likely be traveling from Canada to the U.S., not the other way around. Surely you are not this clueless? Terrorists are now smuggling lathes? Either you're clueless or you think US customs are. I'd be putting my money on customs - they have to follow policy..... Enough already. Not to to start another flame war, but the US killed more since the WTC than were killed in the WTC, and let's not even discuss what secret things the US govt has done to increase instability in certain parts of the world. This whole media-centric fearmongering causing mass paranoia and over-the-top "security" that does very little to secure people has gone on too long and is getting a little tired. As for terriorists coming from Canada, that has not been shown to be accurate, it's only a media trying to redirect focus from the real problem - US foreign policy. Here in Canuck-ville we have a similar dictatorship to the US. Every 5 years or so we elect a different dictator. Given the Canadian dollar, however, even our most wealthy can't buy a Prime Minister-ship. James. The fact is James, there is a threat to the U.S. and there is no threat to Canada. Therefor it is reasonable that getting into the U.S. from a foriegn country (be you a human or a crate) requires a little more time and trouble. It's that simple. JTMcC. JTMcC. Took three weeks. Hey Regis,
You have not stated "where" you sent the money. Hiawatha is not the best known place in Ontario, but Canada Post would have found the closest place with a name like that to the postal code you used. Microsoft Streets & Trips gives three suggestions, all in the Peterborough to Ottawa area. Do you have the actual postal code (ZIP) for the as mailed address? For instance, I recently lived in an area of Windsor called Forest Glade. If you had written to me with that local colloquial name as the "city", it would not have gotten to me unless the postal code was given too. One thing to note though, that if any postal code in Canada has a "0" (numeral zero, not the alphabet letter 'oh') as the second and last digit, it is a "general delivery" type code. Mine is N0P 1C0, and means I have to actually go to the local post office to pick up my mail, as there is no delivery service here in this town. Too late, but take care. Should I assume from your response that everyone in Florida, or perhaps the whole of the US, should be avoided?
