Default Looking for an M38x1.5 nut and having troubles

Can't seem to find this nut. I found one supplier but wanted 60 for a
pair. Any common appliance or products that would have this nut. I'd
find that, and grab the bolt of it.

38mm? 1-1/2"? Common on appliances?

Sounds like a camera/optics item. How many threads do you need in each nut?
What material? Thread class spec?

Robin

Just a common nut, steel. Maybe 1cm in length?

The length of the nut (which means number of threads) has to do with the
strength of the nut. With a larger diameter thread, there is typically a lot
of force, unless it's something like an optical instrument or something that
requires a large bore with very little force.

I'm asking because if you can find a common application, you can find a
source.

After googling "M38x1.5" it seems nitrogen springs (self-contained
cylinders) used on stamping dies use that thread. You may be able to find a
nut from www.danly.com or another similar supplier.

HTH.

Robin

That sounds about like the inner axle nut on a quad or three-wheeler. Try a
motorcycle shop. Though the 1.5mm pitch seems coarse for that?
