Where do I find this group and how do you go about accessing it? Thanks
for any help.

Are you sure that is the *exact* name of the group? If so, where did you
find a reference to it?

I can find no indication it exists: It has no archived control message,
is not on any of the three news servers I currently have access too, nor
was it proposed in alt.config.

BTW as someone else pointed out you will need a newsreader client and a
news server. (Likely a third party, paid server as AOL dropped usenet
news recently) Google groups does not carry or archive .binaries.

alt.binaries.e-book.technical is the correct name. Lots of nice stuff.

I have been pulling stuff off it since last October when a friend pointed me
to it. My ISP appears to be using Giganews (if i'm reading the headers
correctly). E-mail and news is part of the basic account. As far as reading
the group, I use Forte Agent to pull files; it handles reassembly of yEnc
files really well. Many of the postings are ".rar" files, so WinRar and
QuickPar, or equivalents, will be needed.

I didn't find good Linux s/w for binary newsgroups, so I do E-mail and text
newsgroups on Linux and binary groups on WniDoz.
