Aluminum thread load failure
Our customer has a question about thread failure.Is there any
imformation discussing like that aluminum thread holes could load how much torque for stainless steel hex cap screw,etc.? Thank you! |

It depends entirely on the class [fit] of the threads, alloy/s and
individual variations in the clearance tolerances. There are sources which have done the statistics to classify the minimum strength any given thread will have. Look in a Machinist's reference book. Bugs |

Using Heli-coils in aluminum will greatly increase strength.
