Sleeving hydraulic shuttle body, what material?
I have a hydraulic shuttle body from a John Deere 450 Dozer. A valve mounts
to this body and it basically makes a rotary coupling for the hydraulics. The shaft has metal rings that run inside of the body and there are grooves worn in the bore of the body. Any recommendations on the best metal to make a sleeve out of? I'm thinking about ordering a bar of cast iron from McMaster Carr and making the sleeve out of that. It looks like the body is made of cast iron. Any recommendations? Should I make the sleeve out of cast iron or some other material? The guy said that this is real difficult to get to, have to tear the dozer pretty far apart to remove this shuttle body, so I'm trying to repair it right to the best of my ability. Any helpful suggestions are appreciated! Thanks Roger N |
