Being on a Mac, there was no danger of infection, even if it did try to

What it does is split the screen into two side-by-side panels, one per
search engine, allowing one to trigger two parallel searches of the same
search string, and compare the two sets of results.

No idea what bugs were fixed, or how.

Some of the search engines I have never heard of, and the whole affair
seems targeted on Chinese speaking users, although it is perfectly
usable to English speakers.
