"The Pretzel" wrote in message ... JeZuz, T-Rex chasing Adam and Eve. Designer from Universal Studios. Rotflmao. Rightards gone wild. It's funny and all showing how foolish the right wingers are in thinking that evolution is bogus and that God created the world only a few thousand years ago. It's hard to believe that a rational adult would really think like that. They are not rational. No evidence will sway them, unless it comes from a preacher's mouth. Maybe they're not. Just thinking about how mentally "challenged" the right wing folks are it kind of makes me rethink whether I should be arguing with them at all. You can't argue with "belief". It is not up for discussion. These people "know" the truth. Fossils were placed here to confuse us, for instance. If they're that stupid why debate anything with them. It's like arguing with a six year old. No, you CAN argue with a six year-old. They will listen to cogent arguments and examples. These people KNOW they are wrong, but truth *** DOESN'T MATTER ***! This is the key. Only belief matters, because belief, alone, will get you into heaven. Knowledge of the real truth will not. In fact, it will PREVENT your passage into heaven, because you have to believe to get there! What's the point? They don't know what they are talking about but still want to argue. I guess from now on I'll just have to be satisfied with correcting them. It is hopelss. These people have turned their brains off. It is truly amazing to see. My wife is a FAR-out evangelist, going to bible college 1000 miles away from me. These people are truly spooky, visiting a church service is a complete trip. People screaming out and collapsing in heaps in the middle of the service, uncontrollable fits of laughter and/or weeping, "praying" in tongues, prophesies that are so far out it is laughable, and it just keeps going on. Now they are all getting in on the Monavie hype (a supposed health drink from Brazil that costs $30+ a bottle, and looks like a fine French wine bottle) and supposedly the pastor is making $30,000 a week with his minions selling this stuff in a massive multi-level marketing scam. Even though I told her not to, my wife just bought $1100 worth of this glop. She claims it has cured all her problems and makes her feel GREAT! Hmm, She's been pumping this glop down me, too, and I don't feel a BIT different. Oh, yeah, I don't "believe", that's why it doesn't do anything for me! So, back to the believe thing. That's what it is all about, not "truth" but hypnotism! Yeah, that's how it works, they play music (not bad stuff, really) at about 118 dBA for an hour before the service, and everybody looks wiped before the hypnotism begins. Doesn't work on me because I stuff kleenex in my ears to knock it down to 85 dBA or so, so my eardrums don't rattle. So, I've seen this stuff from the inside, and it is quite an amazing scam. Well, that's my rant. Jon |

Go forth and sin no more. Amen. Gunner, Bishop in the Church of John Moses Browing "Pax Americana is a philosophy. Hardly an empire. You take one lousy week off to join Thorax at the Elvis concert, and this

Mom is a health enthusiast, and at one point comes into the back office, and says "take these!" Yes ma'am. After she leaves I tell my Dad (82) "now I know why you're in as good shape you are, you don't dare get 'old'." Oy, three days on the couch, sleeping. But I didn't over eat at the Christmas dinner, for the first time in decades. tschus pyotr -- pyotr filipivich. as an explaination for the decline in the US's tech edge, James Niccol wrote "It used to be that the USA was pretty good at producing stuff teenaged boys could lose a finger or two playing with." |
