Well, I don't know about the left, but here in San Francisco nobody
takes the Chronicle serious. It's the local gossip blatt. It's the
provincial paper, not a serious news paper.

Im not sure what you were looking for from the left, Gunner. So what? A
newspaper used a photo that looked good in it's marketing...their job
(like Limbaugh's) is not to tell the news but to sell advertising. They
do that by getting readers (listeners) to grab a paper (tune in) and the
pic they used had "grab", even if it was a gross distortion. Using
Limbaugh again, he does no different. Media is not about facts, it's
about numbers that sell advertising. Limbaugh lies (misquotes, uses
wrong "facts", lies of omission) on an almost daily basis. So what? He
sells advertising by being entertaining enough to get people to tune in
which is really his job. Anyone who thinks the media's job is actually
providing "news" needs to get a dose of reality. So far, the only media
personality I've ever heard admit this fact is Tom Leykis. He makes it
clear that he is not there to do anything but be a whore to get
listeners in order to sell advertising and make himself rich.

On a second note, what's the difference between this pic, and pics of
"kind and caring" people trying to save Terri Schivo? They were
presented as individuals standing up for what they believed yet were
organized by radical nutcase right-wing christians. The difference?
Nothing but your (and everyone's) distorted viewpoint caused by which
end of the right-left scale they stand upon. From the left side of the
scale, these seemingly caring christian individuals were grossly
distorting the facts to further their own agenda and weren't thinking
for themselves, having been "duped" by passinate talk of nutty christian
leaders. From the right wing side, these good christians were fighting
to protect someone who couldn't fight for themselves.

You got no left wing knee jerk response because there is nothing really
to respond to. The post you made was correct....the pic was a
distortion of the whole. So? It happens day in and day out on the left
and right.

I'm still not sure what kind of response you expected. All you did is
truthfully point out what we all SHOULD know but like to igno Media
sources (left, right and center) sell advertising any way they can.
It's their job. The real goal should be to recognize when the side we
