All of a sudden this group has stopped appearing on my news server.
Does anyone know if it died?

Had this problem once. Right click on the newsgroup name (alt.machines.cnc)
in your subscribed newsgroup list; select ;Properties' from the popup menu;
select 'Local File' tab; select 'Reset' button. Alternatively, delete the
newsgroup from your subscribed list and re-subscribe. This assumes that you
are using MS Windows and MS Outlook Express since you haven't indicated the
contrary.
