As it is common practice to hang the ceiling first, it is a common fact
that the wallboard helps shoulder the ceiling board at the perimeters. However this does not eliminate the need for fasteners at that point. I find it a lot easier to hang the ceiling first then butt sides up to it.

And right there is the only reason for doing the ceiling first. It is a very good reason at that. If the walls are needed to hold it, or even 'help' hold it, the mechanic doing the hanging needs to find another business. Harry K |
