Hi Dave,
Ductless split system is a possible answer. There are heat pump versions.

The other issue with your project is fire. Any partition (including
ceilings) between a garage and a "habitable" space is generally required
to be a "firewall" with a 20 min. fire rating. This includes the door
as well. The door should be self-closing and latching.

The firewall can be satisfied with 5/8 type X drywall that has been fire
taped. (joints sealed) The door needs to be solid core, 1-3/4" thick.
