Default Design ideas - bathroom

Trying to figure out what to do with the space above a privacy wall
between toilet and pedestal sink. Privacy wall is about 40" tall and
4" wide. Key criteria is to let light through the space but want to
incorporate some sort of shelving/storage for toiletries.

Some ideas:
1. glass block on outside edges with glass shelving every two courses
2. stairway of shelves starting with full length piece on wall and
shorter piece as they go up for a total of 4 shelves or so. Could
maybe do shelves in glass but then how would they mount??
3. put a capping material on top of wall (tile, wood, something) and
call it a day.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.
