I watched a little of this and even the first minute was full of lies.

There are fwiw several categories of Holocaust survivors.

I don't think those in my first category use the term about themselves
but occasionally others do iirc. That is, people who were able to leave
before they suffered imprisonment or injuries to their body. Ironically,
more of these were from germany, where things got worse gradually. Some
people thought it was just a cycle and it would get better again, but
soon after that, others thought it was time to leave and they did. See
the contrast wrt other countries below.

Some who waited longer had all their property, their homes, their
businesses, stolen from them by the germans.


A second major group was those Jews who were in hiding, often in the
basements, barns, attics, or even as part of the families of non-Jews. I
would call them survivors, even though they were not beaten, enslaved,
or murdered. The psychological difficulty of hiding, especially when
other members of one's family were arrested and facing death, or maybe
already killed, was terrible, but otoh, they didn't see first hand the
horrors of the camps.


A third smaller group were those were able to form or join resistance
groups and either attack germans, or help civilians escaped, or help
Allied airmen from downed airplanes escape. They lived in the forests
or elsewhere, were sometimes killed, or captured and killed, but at
least they were accomplishing something. Worth noting that the Jewish
and non-Jewish partisan groups did not work well together. Even though
they had the same german enemy, some of the non-Jewish partisans hated
Jews enough to murder Jewish partisans when they had the chance.

Because of the preaching of hatred by the nazis and their constant
hateful acts, the level of hatred increased generally, even between
groups with the same goals or those which had gotten along before, and
you saw the same thing in the USA between 2016 and 2021.


Then a fourth an fifth groups were those who were arrested and sent
either to labor camps or death camps. If the person in that video was
in even a forced-labor camp and he thinks anti-covid actions are
anywhere near as bad as that, he's lying or he's senile, but I think it
more likely he was one of those who never got caught. .


Countries other than germany.
OTOH, in countries gemany occupied, they sometimes started making
arrests immediately, sending healthy men to work camps and murdering
children and old people and most women shortly afterwards. For those
they sent to work, they made calculations about how little food they
could be given to still enable them to work for a few months before they
weakened and died or were killed, versus giving them more so they could
work longer, before they weakened and died or were killed. The work was
valuable to the germans so they tried to extract as much as they could
but as the war went on, the supply of food was not as great. Plus
overriding that was the intention to murder as many Jews as possible.

For others captured, like intellectuals, communists, and other political
opponents, it was fine if they died but it wasn't the overriding goal.
For homosexuals, and the physically and mentally handicapped, I think
the national policy was for them to be killed, but it still was not as
important a goal as it was to kill Jews. Bigger than these groups were
soviet prisoners of war, and millions of them died. I supposed the
level of hate for them among germans varied. People they could have
gotten along with in peace time were now part of an enemy army, even
though they were in prison and no longer able to fight


I've left out a lot of the bad and disgusting details. You can read
about it on your own if you want.


Whether the person in the video was a survivor of one category or
another, or not, whether he remembers what things were like or not,
whether he's lying or senile or not, his words have no truth to them.
All you have to do is read about nazi murders including murdering 1.5
million Jewish children, and anyone should understand this.
