Wouldn't it make more sense for ALL of the countries to work together to
help speed up research.

Trump wants to isolate the US.....that's foolish.

Maybe not. One report that I saw said that the various labs were
sharing information to benefit all of them. If that is the case, it may
just be a question of where the money is coming from for the labs. If
we can independently fund our, fine. Smaller countries need help. Thus
the consortium.

What is not mentioned in the article is how information is being shared,
or not. That is the big factor here and the most important.
