Do Outdoor-Mounted TV Antennas get less effective with age?
Do the pivot-points of the elements need to make a good *electrical* connection, or is proximity good enough? -- croy |

Do Outdoor-Mounted TV Antennas get less effective with age? They can do if you get water into the coax or the balun fails. Do the pivot-points of the elements need to make a good *electrical* connection, No, but the coax does to what it connects to. or is proximity good enough? They just need to be where they are supposed to be. |

Yes the two 1/2s of the elements need to be electrically connected at the center.
They don't _need_ to be connected to the boom but the 2 halves do need to be connected to each other. M |
