Default Questions re New Garage, plumbing and furnace/AC

Hi, TIA.

I live in Denver, Colorado.

My husband signed a contract today with Tuffshed to build a 2-car garage which
he will use as a workshop to build harps, as that is his livlihood. It will
run over 13 grand and he put up almost 7 grand today. We had a carport that
got lots of snow damage the other year and probably won't hold up for another
winter, so this has to be torn down. Is this reasonable? Are they a good
company?

Okay, I wasn't so pleased about all this expense. Lots of things around the
house need fixing and he ain't fixing them. Today I found I have a large bank
account in my deceased mother and my name that I didn't know about, so might
have some bucks to spend if it all works out well. Husband has tried to fix
the bathroom sink several times and replaced the Kohler fixture. It still
drips drips drips and we never use the cold water as it's hard to shut off.
I'm sick of rinsing my mouth out with hot water. Also, there is a constant drip
from the tub tap. I don't even want to clean this area until this is gone. He
took it apart once but that didn't stop it. Tiles had to be torn out to get
into there. The mold is becoming a problem, but with the constant drip it
won't go away. Also, once in a while there is water on the floor around the
toilet. The flooring around the toilet has darkened. So, if I bite the bullet
and call a plumber what would be a good estimate? I love my 50's bathroom and
want it to be nice again. Anyone know a good plumber in this area?

Also, it's probably about time to replace the old 50's furnace with a
furnace/AC unit. The neighbor next door recently got central air but I haven't
been able to talk to him yet about how he felt about the installer, etc. And
good brands, any brands to watch out for? Any good installers around here?

Thanks

You are on the right track! Ask your friends and neighbors who they would
use and get at least three different QUOTES! (not estimates) on replacing
your heating/cooling system.

Brand name means very little compared to the quality of the install job.

Is Tufshed good? Who knows go ck court records that will say. Plumbing
who knows ask neighbors for a plumber . Mold spray bleach on it.
Furnace get bids, get a load calc done, installer is the most important
factor.
