This is forcing the peaceful demonstrators to start shooting at their
attackers, the media that is with them and the cops who chose not to
protect them.

rallies where attendees beaten outside and police did not interfere.

I remember Trump telling people to beat people up, and he would cover
their legal expenses, so I guess that's OK.

In the case they just referenced, where Trump offered to pay the legal
fees, I believe it was
a trumpet who came over and attacked a peaceful protester who was being lead
away by security and who was not resisting. Which is why Trump offered,
because you generally don't have legal fees to defend yourself if you;re
the one who is attacked.

And Trump just told police on Long Island that it's OK to abuse suspects,
to rough them up. Another one of Trump's statements that brought immediate
and widespread rebuke, starting with the local police who had invited him,
chiefs of police around the country, police associations, etc. Trump is
like a circus elephant, it takes an entire team to follow him around
and try to clean up the mess.
