I don't want one of those either, although it looks like it's getting
harder and harder to not need a smartphone.

Really? I manage just fine with texts and calls on my phone. I see no urgency to use Facebook while I'm out.

I don't use my smart phone for very much. I seldom make any calls.
Today I made 2 to the wife while I was out. First time I called
anyone on it in over 3 months..

I use it for 2 things. One is it has a calander in it I put my
appointments on. The 2nd almost pays for the phone. Walmart has an ap
where you take a pix of the code on the cash register paper and it looks
at advertisements of other stores in the area and if any are lower, they
refund you the difference. Not a whole lot, but usually around $ 2 a
week on about $ 200 worth of stuff we buy.

As Direct TV can be seen on the phone, I guess I could take it with me
to the bathroom while doing my business.

I used to take a newspaper or novel with me to the bathroom when I needed to drop a load of Ready Mix. Now I take my Amazon Fire tablet and watch Amazon Prime TV shows and movies. ヽ(ヅ)ノ

It's in a waterproof hard case. I clean it often with Windex. I pick my nose while using it and must clean the smeared boogers off the screen. ヽ(ヅ)ノ

I had my smart phone with no data plan for years. It was just a phone
with a camera and calendar.
I finally put data on it so I could use it as a hot-spot when working
on customer's computers - you need internet to do just about anything

The plan I have cost me $ 12 and some change per month, $ 10 and tax.
With it I have unlimiated phone and text. When I am around wifi it will
connect to the internet. If I am not near wifi and really need the
internet, I can punch in a code and get the plan upgraded, and when I am
finished I can go back to just phone, and only pay for a month of data.

In the 60s, I would not have had any glasses if Shell did not give you
one for every fill up. I still have a few of the Christmas specials.
(stemmed things with painted christmas stuff on them)

"free with 20 gallon purchase". I remember a lot of those signs, until
economy cars became common and wouldn't hold 20 gallons.

I never saw that. It was 8 gallon minimum on a "fill up" for a free
glass. My 72 Ford van only had a 16 gallon tank but my 71 Gremlin had
a 25 gallon tank.
When I topped up my 69 Corvette it was $5 and 13.9 gallons of Sunoco
260.
In those days you never got out of the car, they checked your oil and
washed your windshield. You told them how much gas you wanted and
handed them the money.

Why does the middle one look more like a taperecorder? What's with the play buttons?

It is for the MP3 player function.

I never had a Pabst phone and the opener on the upper right is long lost...

You use that to "vent" the can so the beer comes out better.

USB flashdrive.

That's for lighting the herbs.

OK. Those herbs have a nice smell.
