Cable snaps on USS Eisenhower during landing
The Attitude starts at the TOP!
Eight sailors were injured aboard the USS Eisenhower when an arresting cable snapped during an E-2C Hawkeyes landing in March 2016. USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier currently in service with the United States Navy. According to WAVY, the Navys report says the root cause of the mishap was because three Eisenhower maintenance personnel didnt follow procedural compliance when troubleshooting the arresting gear. The Navy says the personnel missed at least one and possibly two critical steps. https://youtu.be/r-EHwYOfY94 |

They pilot and passengers might need clean underwear after that. I'll bet going off the end and falling twenty feet before going back up was a rush. The ocean was looking big and coming up fast as they were falling. The ship would have probably run over them if they crashed. |
