Part of that question would be how many able bodied people have conned
themselves on to SSI. I know a few right in my neighborhood. The guy
next door is on SSI for a "bad back" and he was planting trees for his
Mom yesterday. In his defense, he is a drunk and a prescription drug
addict but I am not sure that is a "disability" we should be
subsidizing.

I seem to remember something about addiction not being a valid excuse,
when it's the result of a voluntary act (if he wasn't BORN addicted).

I seem to remember something about addiction not being a valid excuse,

They are "disabled" from the symptoms of addiction, not the addiction
itself ... or so it goes in real life.

How about those who get "Crazy Checks" from Social Security because they claim mental problems keep them from working? o_O
