Default Hobart Kitchen Aid Dishwasher

We have a Hobart kitchen aid dishwasher in our house. It is not draining and we cannot figure out how to get the silver thing at the bottom of the inside off to see if it is clogged. Any suggestions?

Have you cheked the screen at the bottom that is visible, to see if it is clogged with old labels that washed off of old jelly and pickle jars, for instance? Can you hear a click/thud when the machine is supposed to start draining? There should be some sound when the drain is supposed to start. If not, then maybe a contact is bad on the rotating timer. Have you checked all the various rotational positions of the timer when the drain is supposed to be activated. If all drain positions do not work, it could be the timer or the drain solenoid. If only some drain positions do not work, then I would suspect contact s ont he timer.

There is a locking heavy wire bail on each side of the motor. Remove the washer arm and disconnect the hoses below...before you unlock it. It can be removed without taking it out from under the counter. Hobarts are made to make servicing easy.
