"China's quality watchdog...."

Must be the same China watchdog that keeps rejecting dogfood,
toothpaste, etc, knowing the US doesn't mind buying that kinda toxic
crap for its own chemically saturated citizens.

I heard a number the other day. ~70% (?) of products in the grocery
stores have GMOs. Not just products with corn.

Cheerios cereal is reported to be removing GMOs - check the box

Actually, we have non gmo corn in the U.S. One example he
http://tinyurl.com/oq8y92e
I think the big companies like Pioneer and Monsanto have them also.
They are probably varieties for food grade products. There is some
debate about the advantages of gm vs. non gm.
One advantage is gm versions can cut down on insecticide use. They
can also allow better weed control as with Roundup Ready soybeans.
Roundup Ready soybeans used to have a small yield disadvantage compared
to non Roundup Ready. I don't know if that's still the case.
It comes down to $$$ as with most things. Farmers are businessmen
in jeans and t shirts.

I just can't wait for my food to be heavily sprayed with 2,4-D. Ahhh - the
wonders of GMO crops!

Too bad all the weeds are becoming immune to roundup - they're haveing to spray
more and more. Soon, that'll be 2,4-D we're eating. What happens when they're
immune to that?

Perhaps it contains high-fructose corn syrup or some other corn derivative.
Mass-market breads taste a little sweet to me. Since I don't buy them, I
don't pay much attention to their ingredients.

Think cornmeal. White corneal for fried spoon bread or Yellow corneal
for oven baked cornbread.
