Default Debit cards down Nov 17, 2011

Went to buy gasoline at Fastrac, with my Fastrac card.
Debits my bank account directly. No go, the system is down.

The cashier says credit cards work, and the cash handler on
the pumps works. Sunoco has credit cards down, they are cash
only.

Anyone else having troubles?

Not in MD, but there's a big penalty in the banking/credit card
system for "Being Down"

I usually use the debit card as credit.

The "Valero" stations in my area charge an extra TEN CENTS per gallon
for credit.

Don't know of any. If I was being comical, I'd write "don't
know of any becuase my radio, TV, internet, computer, and
telegraph are all not working."

If there was EMP, who would be left who was capable of
reporting? If guns are banned, which are capable of
accepting big magazines, should radio stations be shut down
because they are capable of lots of lying?

Maybe it was a "selective" EMP?

Yes, Dear, you're beautiful. No, honey, I wasn't looking at
her tits. I'm truly sorry I didn't hear you scan your
Fastrac card. I just didn't hear you scan it. I'm sorry,
dear.

I tried to buy gas at one of the Sonoco stations on the New Jersey Tpk
on 11/17 in late morning and they told me that none of the pumps had
been able to process credit or debit cards for the past few hours and I
needed to use cash. Good thing I had an extra $25 in my wallet to fill
up my 3/4 empty tank (I'm getting about 58 mpg routinely, city or
highway with my 2010 Prius).
