![]() "HeyBub" wrote in message ... Demise of top-loaders blamed on government regulations. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...pinion_LEADTop It's for the children. LOL, another power-whine from Sam Kazman of the Competitive Enterprise Institute whish coincidentally is funded largely by big corporations like Exxon and Pfizer, and which is uniformly displeased with govt. regulation of industry--what a shocker. The govt. made those companies build crappy washing machines huh? I guess they also forced them to drop their old long warranties in favor of selling extended warranties which by an amazing coincidence run out before most major repairs to washers and dryers are statistically likely to occur. Dang government, always forcing corporate America to do stuff like that. Seriously, do you *ever* see an opinion piece blaming the govt. that you don't swallow hook, line and sinker? Doesn't it ever occur to you to find out who the guy who wrote the piece works for? |

Doesn't it ever occur to you to find out who the guy who wrote the piece works for? Er, no. I look at the message, not the messenger. For example, in the three paragraphs of your response, you not once found fault with the article but found all guilt with the author. Then you (mildly) criticize me for merely reporting what someone else - in this case the Wall Street Journal - said. I agree that advocates of one position or another often let their feelings color their writings or govern the selection of facts they report. But unless their statements are clearly false or their facts complete fiction, they shouldn't be pilloried for using selected facts to bolster their arguments. There is, of course, one exception: Anything the government says is a lie. |
