Default I was watching Renovation Realities “The Cooper Job”

Correct me if I’m wrong but they jackhammered onto what they thought
was electrical cable which later the electrician wrongly identified as
rebar when in fact it was post-tensioned cable and nobody said
anything.

I am not a pro, but consider myself reasonably well educated in construction
and commonly see major gaffs in DIY TV shows including one that is normally
very good at doing things the right way.

It has got to the point that I watch the shows not to learn from them but to
look for the errors and stupid things that they do. One that irks me is
designers, who only know how to make things look good (in their opinion),
try to get involved with construction renovations and start making changes
contrary to the building, wiring and plumbing codes. They also do stupid
things like install finished flooring before even the drywall is installed
because it is required for their TV schedule.

So very true...Those shows always make me laugh..They are a joke and a bad
one at that...The bad part is some homeowners really think you can do things
like drywall , paint , install cabinetts and lay tile all at once and get
mad when you laugh and tell them it ain't happening and it's gonna take more
than 3 days to complete the project...LOL....It's hard to believe that
supposedly educated people believe what they see on TV...LOL...
