I have this stereo and if I get DRLC MAIN and will not shut off, then
use the remote control to shut down. Always works. Easiest way. As
to the fidelity from this "old unit", about the time this Sony was
built no human could possibly tell the difference in response and
quality of sound from newer units as the electronics have surpased
what distortion we can detect anyway. So, if used for CD's and
records you have about the best, but not the most expensive.
