Another suggestion re spam

A suggestion:

If you have a little time open each spam and view the header.
Actually just open it and then click *Forward* You should see the whole
header.
If the X-Abuse line shows then *Forward* the
whole damn thing to
.
Just copy
and then use Ctrl V to paste it into
the To

Maybe if a lot of us keep at it the folks at google will:
1. Get the message
2. Get tired of being flooded with complaints
3. DO SOMETHING

BTW I use a munged *From* so Google can not even complain back at me.

In other words, react to a problem (usenet abuse) by CREATING MORE OF
IT.

BTW I use a munged *From* so Google can not even complain back at me.

Ummmm.... no. Read it again. He said to *forward* it to Google's abuse
account. That's an *email* complaint directly to Google.

Which is a fine idea, except for one tiny problem: Google doesn't care, and
won't do a damn thing about it. Easier to just killfile all GoogleGroups
traffic.

Yes. There is a "report abuse" link right on Google.
I did my part and reported plenty of spam.
Never made the slightest difference.

OK, I'm a little bit off. You're reacting to a news problem by
creating an email problem. That's still reacting to a problem by
creating a problem.

Lou

I'm betting the folks at Google have filters in place so that they don't
have to see the complaints, LOL. If they actually read 1/4 of the
complaints, they'd have a clue already...

Sure, but you have to look at who it's creating an email problem *for*:
Google. The same clowns who are responsible for the news problem.

What's wrong with that?

They have a clue or three, of that you can be sure. As someone else
pointed out, they just don't give a **** about it.

Is it possible that google is just waiting until most isp's give up on
newservers, then they will "takeover" and then fix the problem they created?

Definitely possible, likely even. They might "fix" Usenet by just
eliminating it altogether.
