No it is not.....surface must been clean (no wax) and abraded so the finish has tooth to grab......anything "softer" under the finish can cause it to flake or peel off anytime in the future especially after it is walked on (defeats the corner or under the couch test).....testing for compatibility of finishes is wise as well (under the couch will work) since the new finish may not cure or can out gas and cause bubbles (personal experience).....Rod |

![]() wrote in message oups.com... can polyurethane be applied to wax floor Sure, and you can roll it up at night so it won't get dirty. There are no shortcuts to a good job. If you want it to stick, remove the wax. If it is deep in the pores, sanding may be the only way. |
