Try it in the corner or under the couch. It is very good at
adhering to just about anything it touches.

one should strip wax off any floor before refinishing.
a clean surface gives best adhesion.

No it is not.....surface must been clean (no wax) and abraded so the finish
has tooth to grab......anything "softer" under the finish can cause it to
flake or peel off anytime in the future especially after it is walked on
(defeats the corner or under the couch test).....testing for compatibility
of finishes is wise as well (under the couch will work) since the new finish
may not cure or can out gas and cause bubbles (personal experience).....Rod

Sure, and you can roll it up at night so it won't get dirty.

There are no shortcuts to a good job. If you want it to stick, remove the
wax. If it is deep in the pores, sanding may be the only way.
