Default kitchen taps

Can any one tell me how to replace a kitchen one spout faucet that is
leaking at the base?
Difficult or easy? What tools would be required?
Thank you

They are not worth servicing, for starters. Get a replacement at your
"big box" outfit. Typically around $100, depending on how fancy you
like.

They are retained at the bottom underneath with a plate and threaded
pipe. You will need what is called a "basin wrench" to get this off, as
it is likely well corroded. When you put the new one on (grease ALL
threads first), they usually provide a long socket wrench.

The feed connections can usually be put together with simple open end
wrenches (size varies). Use and adjustable wrench, if you have to.

You might also want to put in shutoff valves when you replace the
faucet, if they are not already there.

Take a good close look as to how things are hooked up to the water
supply, so you will get whatever fittings you need.

You should also get a small container of "plumber's putty," or a tube
of silicon caulk to seal up between the faucet fitting and the sink
top.

Make sure to clean up things good before you put it all back together.

Last time I did one (we were having a dinner party shortly....) was
about an hour. Pick a time to do this when stores are open, just in
case you have to go back for more stuff.
