If you can't figure it out, you shouldn't be hanging wallboard.
Kirby was close, but the exact figure is 11 million sheets. ____________________________________ Posted via Homerepairlive.com http://www.homerepairlive.com |

dry wall
it's simple enough to calculate the area for that size but that ignores
where the pieces need to be cut. Best is to draw each wall and cieling on graph paper at 1 square=1foot and block out 4x8 sheets of drywall on the plan then just count it up. It is easier to see how cut up piece will be used or not used all the way. If you really want to get tricky, cut out a stack of 4x8 square slips of paper and cut/paste those to fit the plan. If your good with AutoCAD you could do it there but the learning curve is longer than it takes to make a diagram. With 9 foot walls, you may want to look for extra large 4x10 sheets of drywall (i think they have this) to avoid a seam 1 foot from the cieling or floor. If you plan to have a molding (picture rail or similar) 1 foot from the cieling, that would hide the seam (from 4x8 sheets) nicely. 2(13.4x9)+2(11.6x9)+13.4x11.6= 241.2+208.8+155.4 = 605.5 SF /32SF per sheet = a minimum of 19 sheets but I think you may need 24-25 to account for waste and inefficient cuts. You can always return the extras. This also ignores windows and doors so subtract 2-3 sheets "badbikerelvis" noreply@ wrote in message news:94795e5bf8da7c51781d1284e71bc514@homerepairli ve.com... how do i know how much i need lets say i have a room 13.4 x 11.6 with 9'0" ceilings how many sheets do i need? ____________________________________ Posted via Homerepairlive.com http://www.homerepairlive.com |
