Get ready for Los Angeles riots
"Larry Bud" wrote in
oups.com: Capital punishment simply makes sure the condemed doesnt repeat his crimes. The fact Tookie lasted for 24 yrs, gives credit to the safeguards built into the justice system. So does "Life" without the possibility of parole. No it doesn't. Plenty of people in jail have ordered hits on the outside, and there's tremendous evidence that Williams was still involved controlling gangs from the inside until the early 90s. They can also kill others in the jail, including innocent guards. He shouldn't have the right to live out his natural life when he purposely didn't allow 4 others to do the same. I don't see why such violent criminals should get free food, housing and medical care that many ordinary decent citizens do not get,or have to work hard to have them.(and STILL have the great risk they harm someone else) If someone is that bad a person that they can never be released back into free society, and pose risks to others inside prison(inmates AND guards),then they need to be executed, and not 20+ years after sentencing. -- Jim Yanik jyanik at kua.net |
