Default Cinch Bugs

I live in Florida, have St. Augustine grass and now have my first cinch bug
infestation. There are about half a dozen brown spots on the lawn at this
time. My question is what is the simplest way to get rid of these pests.
Thanks in advance...Ross

I get a bag of pesticides from Lowe's. It usually kills other pests as
well. You use a fertilizer spreader to apply it. Another great bonus is
that it keeps the ants out of your yard.

Scott's has a granular bagged product specifically for this problem and it
is usually carried at Lowes, though the name eludes me at the moment.
Google Scott's website for verification of the name.

Unless you want to infest your lawn with pesticides every year you
could add clover to your lawn. Clover repells cinch bug and produces
nitrogen which benifits your regular grass - a natural way to control
unwanted bugs.

Be sure your sprinklers are covering and the brown spots aren't from
lack of water.
