Beano vs Activated charcoal? Liquid or tablet (cheaper?)
I have lots of gas and did some research on things I can do to help that
problem (including watching what and how I eat). When on occasion I do eat something that gives me gas I would like to take something like Beano (which is expensive). Activated charcoal is cheaper. Which one is cheaper depends on how much us should take. What are the pros and cons of both. Also, is Beano cheaper in liquid form or tablet? Thanks. |

You can get the generic form of Beano at Eckerd's . . . it's something like 40% cheaper. Beano is a digestive enzyme that works by preventing gas problems in the first place, I'm not sure what activated charcoal does--I think all it does is eliminate the odor from gas? When I was eating lots of vegetarian stuff (bean stews) I discovered that I could acclimate myself to dried beans by slowly increasing the amount I ate, week by week. Then I discovered black beans, which for some reason tend not to generate as much gas, so I stayed pretty much with them . . . --Tock |
