window lock needed
Hi:
I need a lock for a window. It's a bottom open/toped hinged window like they usually have in school. I need a lock that will allow me to leave the window open, at least a little bit, and not have someone be able to get in. Any ideas? Thanks, M |

If this is an all wood window you can drill through both sash and surrounding frame a hole (or two) large enough to hold (loosely) a 6-inch nail you use as a bolt. Best plan might be: -- one hole to lock the window wholly shut. When inserted through both sash and frame the big nail prevents sliding the window open. -- a second hold that locks similarly when the window is two inches open. -- Don Phillipson Carlsbad Springs (Ottawa, Canada) |

These windows are metal. Any other possibilities??? Marc |
