Is it OK to lay down an upright freezer
I need to move an upright freezer. The only available vehicle to acomplish
this is a van, so I would have to lay the freezer down. Is this OK Seems like I remeber this being a no no. -- "They that would give up essential liberty for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -- Benjamin Franklin |

The problem with laying it down is that the oil runs out of the compressor while it's on its back. As long as it stands upright long enough for the oil to run back where it belongs, you won't harm it. So go ahead and move it lying down. Then leave it standing up for 24 hours before you plug it in. It'll be OK. -- Regards, Doug Miller (alphageek at milmac dot com) It's time to throw all their damned tea in the harbor again. |
