Recently, I have experienced a bit of a problem with my corner Lazy
Susan cabinet. It seems to stick (the lower plastic tray rubbing against the lower opening of the cabinet) when rotating. I believe the trays themselves are still level. I put a small bubble level in various places on the lower shelf and rotated the entire assembly, finding that the same spot would read first level and then out of level. The gap between the lower tray and the bottom of the cabinet opening gets bigger and smaller as the entire assembly rotates. I have also noticed that, when closed, the left-side cabinet door has a much smaller gap between the top of the door and the top of the cabinet opening than the right-side cabinet door does. I suspect the entire assembly has shifted (and is now crooked) and I'd like to fix it. I'm having difficulty finding resources on the web that will assist me in either adjusting or disassembling the unit. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, -Chuck |

Not sure this will help in your case, but I started experiencing this with mine, and remove some weight from the shelf in question alleviated the issue. -- Todd H. http://www.toddh.net/ |

Todd,
Thanks for the tip - this was my very first inclination. I removed everything from the entire cabinet to see if it would alleviate the problem. Unfortunately it didn't seem to change the situation; the cabinet stuck in the same spots. I then thought I might be able to wiggle the mech to see if there was any "play" in the assembly (maybe it was just worn and would list to one side under heavier loads) however the center pole and each shelf seemed to be firmly set in place. I am still interested in learning how I might be able to adjust the angle of the entire mech; is there some place on the web that posts instruction manuals for these assemblies? -Chuck Todd H. wrote: writes: Recently, I have experienced a bit of a problem with my corner Lazy Susan cabinet. Thanks for the tip, however the areas where the rotating cabinet gets
sticky I can see wood rubbing against wood. I have no doubt that a shot of oil in the right spots would make it rotate easier overall, however the places where it's sticking I am not sure oil will help. Thanks just the same, it never hurts to point out the obvious - _just_in_case_. -Chuck RnR wrote: On 30 Oct 2006 13:07:03 -0800, wrote: Todd, Thanks for the tip - this was my very first inclination. This may sound stupid but did you try to oil it (no, I'm not trying to be a smartass) ? Try some wd40 with the plastic straw attached to the nozzle to make it easier to squirt the oil in those hard to reach areas. |
