Default Bosch dryer light

I have a Bosch dryer moodel WTA3500. The manual says the drum light can
only be replaced b an authorized service person. Anyone know if I, as a
fairly handy person, can access the bulb and replace it? If so, can you
tell me the type of bulb so I can have it on hand?
thanks...charlie

them apaprt, etc.

as far aswhat the manual says; usually if you do anything that the
manual says requires an authorized service person, you void your
warranty.
Hard to believe they require an authorized service peron to change a
bulb,m but if you just bought this item & have a warranty, you ight
want to re-consider doing it yourself.

It's not just Bosch. My last house had a GE over the range microwave. On
of the bulbs on the bottom that light the cook top burned out. No one in
Phoenix had them in stock and it was $25 + shipping to order from GE.
Luckily I realized that it was still under warranty so got for free.

Hi Charlie,

I just finished the install, here are your steps:

1) Get the bulb, should be $5.00 (Part 070779)
2) Get a #20 Torx wrench
3) Get a very very thin metal spatula
4) With the spatula take off the two oval plastic covers that are on
each side of the lid
5) With the torx wrench undo the two screws that were covered
6) Lift open the top and put it to one side
Note: you might be able to do it without the lid off but I think taking
the lid off makes it a little easier
7) There are two slots at each end on the front face plate, they are
kinda "underneath", use a normal slotted screwdriver (1/4") to gently
pry off the face plate at these two ends and in the middle (you will
have to use the screwdriver and gently go up underneath the face plate
in the middle) With the right touch the face plate will snap out !
8) Let the face plate dangle on the right side
9) You will see the light housing in the middle, with the #20 torx undo
the screw that holds on the housing
10) You will now see the wires connected to the light housing, slowly
twist and turn the housing until it comes out or take off the
connectors and then pull out the housing, whichever you find easier (it
is a really tight fit, damn germans
11) Once the you get the housing out the rest is academic ...

Good Luck

All that to change a light bulb?
I won't be buying one of them.

Why does a dryer have a light bulb anyway?
