How to prepare and operate a water softner

We have a water softner and never figured out how to use it. Could
someone give me some info?

Find the Mfr and Model on the nameplate.
GOOGLE for the Mfr support page or call Dealer.

Or, for general info, GOOGLE "water softener" or similar.
