Default Housing affordability

The Housing and Transportation Affordability Index prices the
trade-offs that households make between housing and transportation
costs, and the savings that derive from living in communities that are
near shopping, schools, and work, and that boast a transit-rich
environment. It provides consumers with the information needed to make
better decisions about which neighborhoods are truly affordable.

More socialist claptrap IMO. Cost of living in Chicago proper is a
zillion times higher than, say, Tulsa. But Chicago has packed-in
cities and large-scale mass transit.
