Sears Coldspot 106
I'm trying to find out how old my refrigerator is. It is still working
although it leaves water on the floor which I wipe up periodically. It still cools and freezes but I know it's on its way out. It's quite old because it's olive green in color. Here are the specs from the ID tag on the unit: Sears Coldspot Model 106 7645340 Serial# E43946062 I'm looking to replace it but want to get an idea of its age because I want to see how long this model has lasted. |

"It is still working

A little minor basic maintenance could improve the efficiency of the unit and it might last almost forever. They don't make them like they used to. You could be buying a new refrigerator every 6 years when you replace that baby. |

The drip pan is dry and in the correct position. I cleaned the
condenser coil a few months back and it's still clean. The fridge has plenty of ventilation and the coil never gets more than slightly warm to the touch. Upon closer inspection the water is actually coming from within the refrigerator. It collects below the bottom storage bins. It's a top-freezer type unit. |
