Default Laundry Shut Off Valve Idea

I have a second floor laundry hookup, and the thought of the hoses
bursting concerns me. I use metal-wrapped hoses, but even they can
burst. I was turning off the faucets, but they are old, and all the
turning on and off has weakened them and has caused leaking, so I'd
like just to leave them on.

I looked into replacing the connection box, but it is a pricey job, and
sometimes ripping things up leads to other problems, so here is a
solution that I hope is available for purchase.

I'd like to screw a shut off valve directly onto the faucets outlet
coming out of the laundry connection box. Then I could screw the
washer hoses into the shut off valves. Does something like this exist?
If not, do folks here think it's a decent idea?

The shut off valve apparatus would have a female screw connection that
goes on the faucet, then have one of those lever type switches to
control the water flow, and then have a male screw connection to attach
to the washer hose. The whole thing would be metal, so bursting
wouldn't be an issue, and with quality workmanship, leaks shouldn't
require anything more than a new rubber washer.

We need pics.

Sounds like you are using poor quality valves. Ues ball valves, not
gate valves. Any ball valve is better than any gate valves. Of
course, the ball valves not made in China are better then the ones made
in China.

After taking the time to carefully look at the alternatives suggested,
I like my idea better. Simpler installation, cheaper, and more
reliable if you remember to turn off the control valves. I think I'll
buy a laundry connection box, rip it apart, and make my own. I'll post
pics if I make it.

Dunno, don't see this as better than the 1/4 turn handle on the stock
product laundry shut off valve already installed in my (and many
other) houses. One handle shuts off both sides.

Open the wall and put it in. Less trouble to spackle the wall than
all this farting around with home made rigs or multiple valves.
