Default lithium charger

i know the lithium batterys pop if overcharged but all the plans i've seen
have curr/temp/volt/time feedback loops and emergancy trips on them. what
is the minimal setup if i trickle charge and don't care how long it takes?
are they realy that sensitive?

Lithium batteries can explode and start fires if improperly charged. That is
why they have so many safety features.
Why not just breakdown and buy a charger instead of risky a serious problem.

As mentioned above, Li+ battery chargers deal with all sorts of issues.
They also incorporate a safety timer, but that's a last resort.

The Li+ charge cycle is quite simple.

If within valid temperature range (usually 0C to +40C to start
charging), drive a constant current until V(cell) = 4.2V. Now drive a
constant voltage (at 4.2V) until the charge current drops to some
predetermined cutoff (C/20 or so). Stop charging.

Do not trickle charge a Li+ battery that is already charged without
checking the terminal voltage and cutting out.

Why do you want to know? Are you trying to design a Li+ charger into
something or just rigging one up for your own use? Chargers are cheap.

Cheers
