Default Panasonic TX-32DK1 yellow screen / turns off

I have just aquired an old battered panasonic tv from a friend who doesn't
have the will nor the time to fix it.

Basically I turn this thing on and the screen is totally yellow/greeny an
almost curry kinda colour.

After a short period of time it will turn itself off I can turn it back
again, but it will soon turn off a few seconds later. Before I get somone
to look at it does it sound fixible or are it's days numbered?

A yellow picture means that the blue channel is missing. This can be
anything from the blue video drive to the CRT itself.

You would have to get the set properly checked, and let them give you an
estimate. With a set of the age of the model you have, there is a very
strong chance that the CRT is bad. This would not be worth to replace in
that set.
