Default Sharp XL-HP535E spares

Hi all,

The misses got me this little Sharp Hifi model (XL-HP535E) for xmas. In less than 2 months my little one has managed to crack the clear screen that covers the display, which I would like to replace.

Problem is, I've contacted Sharp, and the only spares or parts they do are the Remote Control and the Speaker Grill Covers.

Any suggestions on where I may get a new one and how to replace it, baring in mind it still has 10months warranty.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards,

Mark

If it is not available from Sharp, the only other solution is to see if
you can have a replacement made out of acrylic or something like that.
If the part is a simple one, the task may not be too hard to do.

Another approach is to see if you can find a used set that may or may
not be working, and you can take parts from it.

As for the propriatory parts that are not available, this is where the
service techs get stuck and cannot do the repairs.

For the low to medium end levels of home electronics, many of the
manufactures do not support after warranty service and parts. During
the warranty, they usually give the customer a complete new set.
