Default Laptop LCD problem - likely loose hinge or cable

Hi..
My old Toshiba protege 7020's LCD display is all white. And the only way to get the display to work again is to apply some pressure from the top and cycle through Fn-F5. It used to get fixed by tapping the display lid but now its at a point where I have to apply constant pressure.
I do not have a service manual to see how to disassemble the lid to check for any loose connections at the hinge. Any help on how to fix this poblem wouldbe much appreciated.

Thanks
