Default Technics Tape Deck Idler

I'm trying to repair a Technics RS-B29R cassette deck for a pastor
friend who uses it to record services for shut-ins. I need the idler
gear which drives the right hand take-up hub. It's about 12mm in
diameter. I have not been able to get a part number or replacement for
this from any of my usual vendors. Can anyone help, please? Even a
part number would help. It would be difficult to replace this unit, for
there are fewer auto-reverse decks on the market these days. Thanks for
reading!

Technics was Panasonics home hifi line and they might be able to help
you with that unit. Try your local authorized Panasonic repair
facility.
Barring that you'll have to try and match it up with some of the
aftermarket companies.

Is a good source for hard to find parts.

Doug,

Try faxing Andrews Electronics (fax 1-800-289-0301) with the model
number and a description of what you are looking for. They are an
authorized Panasonic/Technics distributor and will be able to provide an
original item. I'd also consider replacing any belts while your in
there.

Please note that any Panasonic/Technics distributor should be able to
help you, I've just had good service from Andrews'.
